Questions & Answers for T-Mobile T-Mobile SIM Card Activation Kit

Question

Will SIM card work with non-branded but also non-US phone?

Is it possible to use the SIM card with a pre-paid plan with my HTC phone from Germany? The frequencies are ok, but I read here that the SIM card only works in branded phones, mine is not branded.

Prepaid cards do not expire. However, once used the balance will expire in either 90/365 days if not used (based on your account) on prepaid service.

The SIM card numbers required to verify are the ones that start with 8901, and end with the letter f. If you attempt to use the SIM on your account while speaking with one of our reps, they will let you know the status of the SIM card.

T-Mobile can not ship outside the USA. What would be advisable is to have it sent to a friend/family member within the US. They can activate it for you, so that it is ready when you get into the US.

This is the brain of your phone. This is what tells your phone what phone number it should be using, and connects your phone to the T-Mobile network.

It depends on you phone's settings and your current provider, but generally your contacts are saved to the Sim card and messages /pictures are saved on the phone or micro SD card. You can copy from the Sim to the phone in the menu for example for contacts goto you contacts from the main menu and from your list of contacts you should be able to enter an options or settings menu and either select copy from Sim to phone or select all first (again depending on your phone) and once it's done. you can copy it back to your new Sim card.

Question

Can I use this card to re-activate my T-mobile account?

I've bought a T-mobile phone and a pre-paid card with Pay As You Go plan 9 months ago. The card's balance has expired I guess. Can I buy this card to re-active my old number? Do I need to buy additional prepaid card to refill?
