No. it has a QWERTY keyboard. Texting doesn't work every time anyway. The screen freezes up, and if someone is sending you a message while you are typing on your keyboard, it will lock and prevent you from typing anything futher until the incoming message is fully received by the phone.

Yes, the phone has a built-in web browser. I use it often. Let's say I can't remember the address of a restaurant. If I can remember the name, then it's easy to get the address via the web. Ditto for all the standard web stuff, wikipedia, news, weather... everything.

answer 2
My phone has frozen once in 8 months. I removed the battery, rebooted, and that was the end of the problem. I've read reviews here that say the phone freezes often, but my phone operates perfectly. I think the phone may slow down or freeze if too many apps are running simultaneously. But that doesn't happen to me because I take the time to maintain the phone files so as not to overtax the processor. For example, I archive or delete all text messages every day (never keep more than 200 “live”). I minimize or turn off most of the Motoblur funtions, and rarely use the phone for processor-intensive Facebook-style social networking. Don’t need or want constant updates about who is drinking coffee or hanging out. The Cliq XT has much more valuable abilities.

Yes this phone works fine out of box then as soon as your memory usage approaches 50MB+ it freezes with long gaps in between. If I receive a call while I'm texting I'm stuck waiting for the screens to shift until I can answer - most times I have to call people back!

The phone can do a lot. It runs the Android operating system, so it's essentially a handheld computer.

Love the built-in GPS and Google Maps. The phone doubles as a music player, camera, notepad, web browser, picture editor, game console, calculator, and the list of other useful functions is endless because of the downloadable Android apps.

It can text, make phone calls, and take pictures. However, my photo gallery can no longer be accessed, so I can take pics all day long, I just can't access them later. Because this phone is not included in the android upgrade, it will be useless before long because it will no longer be compatible with apps. Sorry. Oh, it does take a lot to destroy. I have thrown it probably 20 times, and it never breaks!
