I own this phone and it definitely does not have a front facing camera. It has a normal back facing camera but it does not have a camera that faces the same direction as the screen that you would use for videochatting. Maybe people are confused about what a front facing camera is..?

Question

Wildfire vs. Sensation???

Well I've been looking at the HTC Sensation because i know i want an HTC that runs on Android but it is just so darn expensive compaired to the, in my mind, not as good brands. But along comes the Wildfire that looks like its would be a good alternative to the Sensation but my friend has the AT&T equivlant to the Wildfire and I was dissapointed in how much slower it ran compaired to its "Big Brother" the Sensation so my question is which phone is better for the price???

I can't really speak for the Wildfire as I don't personally own it. However, I do own the Sensation and can say it's a really fantastic phone. Better camera than the Wildfire, 4G rather than 3G, generally better features. But, as you said, for a much higher price. HTC doesn't generally make bad products so the Wildfire would probably be very good, but if you can splurge a little I'd go for the Sensation; it's a fantastic phone.

Personally, I would choose the wildfire because it is a great phone! Small and compact, and if you are worried about the price you totally get your money's worth out of this great phone!

answer 4
i dont have the wiildfire but i do have the htc sensation and my friend has wildfire. So we were comparing them: The wildfire feels weird and bulky in your hand and the touch sensablity was bad so you had to bang on the phone to get to texting!. But the senation: is not bulky to hold and the gorrila glass is so nice to sweep your finger across, and the sensation is pretty good with touch sensabilty so probally sensation...

answer 5
I have this phone.
Honestly it's an entry level android.
The processor runs at 600 mhz on a good day.
The phone is reliable I'll give it that, but it lacks horse power and storage space.
Adding a 16 gb sd card helps, but doesn't solve all the storage problems.. Updates can easily take up a good chunk of the internal storage, and once the updates are installed your phone will lag pretty good. If it truely is an operating system similar to Linux as I am told I am willing to bet that as storage is used, the swap space is reduced thus straining the resources the kernel (operating system) has to work with and slowing the phone down. Not a good phone to watch youtube videos on, or netflix.

Check Cnet or other sites for a review of this phone. Most of the reviews have been mediocre and cannot compare to the Sensation. Most say this is a mid-range android device running only 528 mghz.

answer 4
Heavens, it's right in the manual.
One is a proximity sensor (so the screen will turn off when the phone is up to your face, and in some phones to increase the ring volume when it's in your pocket or purse).

The other is a Notification light:
The notification LED shows a:
§ Solid green light when HTC Wildfire S is connected to the power adapter or a
computer and the battery is fully charged.
§ Flashing green light when you have a pending notification.
§ Solid orange light when the battery is being charged.
§ Flashing red light when the battery level reaches very low.

I have this phone. I upgraded my old flip phone to this phone...
Good stepping stone phone to a better smart phone as it's dirt cheep.
The good : It works
The bad : Slow proecessor, Very low internal memory. Installing all the updates takes up most of the memory on this phone. Putting a 16 gig sd card in it helps "only a little" Not all apps can reside on the SD card! If you want to play games on your phone... this one isn't the phone unless you love lag!
