If you are not in WiFi range, can you still tether the phone to your computer so that you can get on the Internet?

First of all you'd need a data plan on your phone. Secondly, you'd need a tethering & hotspot plan. So it doesn't matter if you have wifi or not.
The Hotspot uses your 3G network to MAKE a wifi connection for other devices to use. I'm not sure if it affects your data use.

Yes but it cost money, like all phones. You need a plan to tether phones.

It is the standard android facebook. It's not AS good as the iphones facebook app, but it is much better than the mobile facebook site. You can everything you would need to do on a facebook app.

No, you don't need a data plan on this phone. You can always use the built in wifi feature.
