This is what you will have:
Alarms, Calculator, Calendar, Camera, Xbox Live Games, HTC Hub, HTC Watch, Internet explorer, Maps, Marketplace, Music+Videos, T-Mobile My Accounts App, Netflix App, Notes, Microsoft Office, Slacker Radio, TeleNav GPS Nav, T-Mobile TV.

Marketplace has a few good apps for free, but you have to pay for some too. On the plus side, if you buy this phone before Dec. 31 you get a free $25 prepaid app card from Microsoft.

There's about 40,000 apps to choose from, and growing. Plenty for anything what you want to do. I like Tango for video calls. Intuit GoPayment (e.g. makers of Turbo Tax allows you to do credit card transactions on your phone. You get plenty of games, even ones like Ilo Milo that you can't get on other platforms since it has Xbox integration. I personally like Craigslist A+ since the LiveTiles will alert me whenever someone posts something I am searching for. Whatever the category, there's plenty for you to choose from.

There are currently over 50k apps in the Marketplace. The ads that are on some free apps are way less intrusive than on iphone and android. Also IMO windows phone apps are the most attractive of the three platforms. Most of the popular apps on the other platforms are present with the biggest exception at the moment being Zynga games. This platform does have the fastest growing app store though so the missing popular apps may find their way to the marketplace in the very near future especially with the full weight of Nokia behind windows phone now.

Question

HTC Radar 4G or HTC Amaze 4G?

I like both phones, I just don't know which to pick. Amaze is top of the line smart phone. Radar is more of a mid-range phone but can perform just as good, if not better than the Amaze... I'm stuck!

Amaze: Android and the slew of apps this entails. Big screen (a bit too big imo, but this is personal preference, go to the store and ask to demo the phone and see if you can type one-handed). You'll be lucky if your battery lasts you till 6pm. The dual core, top-end hardware just eats battery life.

Radar: Windows Phone and the lack of apps this entails. The marketplace is slowing growing in the number of good apps, but you still won't find things like Square, major bank apps, etc. Check the marketplace first if there are apps you feel you must have. The screen size is perfect for one-handed use, the phone feels good in your hand. The battery life is excellent, I've gone two full days without a charge. Despite having much more conservative hardware, Windows Phone actually feels smoother and more fluid than Android. Again ask to demo the unit, play around with the UI, see if it fits your needs.

answer 3
The argument of dual/single core has no bearing, because unlike Androids OS and processing, the Windows Phone does not need a dual core to do the same things.

The Windows Phone platform is the same across all phones, meaning you will experience the same OS system and style that a phone say the HTC Titan is, which has a much larger screen and looks like a "top of the line phone".

It really comes down to what you like. Android rivals Apple with its Apps, and is more geared towards people who like open platforms. The Windows Phone is king of simplicity, sleekness, and style. It has all of the major apps you would want, and a developing marketplace that will reach the number of apps the other two have in a year or so. Basically WP7 is an "upcoming" system. It's not like it's going to stay a "minor" system forever.

It takes "decent" pictures. I wouldn't say excellent, but realistically 3.5/5 stars. The F2.2 lens allows for better "low light" pictures than previous Windows Phones and does assist for daylight pictures. Some people argue more mega-pixels is better but I disagree - I believe it's all in the lens.
